About Rockland Lake State Park

A 256-acre lake sits at the center of the park's 1,133 acres, occupying land on a ridge of Hook Mountain above the Hudson River's west bank. The surrounding grounds stretch across the hamlets of Congers and Valley Cottage within the Town of Clarkstown. Together the lake and ridge account for nearly a quarter of the park's total acreage being open water.
