About West Branch State Park

The Michael J. Kirwan Reservoir, formed on the west branch of the Mahoning River, anchors this park's more than 5,000 acres of land and 2,650 acres of water. The land spans Charlestown, Edinburg, and Paris townships, with additional acreage reaching into Palmyra, Ravenna, and Rootstown townships. Boating, fishing, and swimming take place on the reservoir, and the grounds also support hiking and camping.
