About Alabaster Caverns State Park
200 acres of gypsum terrain hold the largest natural gypsum cave open to the public anywhere in the world. Inside, the walls show pink, white, and black alabaster, with the black variety occurring in only three known veins on the planet, alongside Oklahoma's, one lies in Italy and one in China. Selenite crystal formations also appear throughout the cave system. Annual visitation has ranged from around 24,700 to a historical figure near 40,000.
