About Gloss Mountain State Park
Selenite gypsum crystals give this mesa range its glassy sheen and the name Glass Mountains. A hiking trail climbs from the base parking lot to the top of Cathedral Mountain and continues across the mesa to overlook the valley floor and Lone Peak Mountain. The park offers picnicking and a handicap-accessible trail to a historical marker, but has no campsites or overnight accommodations. It is open for hiking and picnicking from sunrise to sunset, year-round.
