Wagon trains on the Oregon Trail relied on this spot as a regular stopping point during the mid-1800s, drawn by the springs that gave the site its name. The park sits in old-growth forest near the summit of the Blue Mountains, alongside Interstate 84. It preserves that emigrant campsite history within the forested setting.
