About Kooser State Park

Civilian Conservation Corps crews built this 250-acre park in the 1930s, damming Kooser Run to form the 4-acre Kooser Lake. The land sits surrounded by Forbes State Forest, which it also borders directly, in Jefferson Township. Pennsylvania Route 31 runs past the park, putting it about an hour's drive from Pittsburgh.
