About Dead Horse Point State Park
5,362 acres of high desert sit atop a mesa rising 5,900 feet in elevation, cut through by a point overlooking a gooseneck bend of the Colorado River. From the rim, the land drops away toward Canyonlands National Park, giving the park its overlook views. The site has been open to the public since 1959.
