About Wilgus State Park
Canoe access along the Connecticut River sits alongside the climb up Pinnacle Trail, with tent and lean-to sites for overnight stays. The grounds were built by Civilian Conservation Corps crews, and that construction work earned the park a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. William J. Wilgus gave the land in 1933, and the park now falls under Vermont's forests, parks, and recreation department, within reach of Mount Ascutney and the Saint-Gaudens National Historic Site.
