About Gifford Woods State Park

Old-growth forest here has earned National Natural Landmark status and can be walked through on a dedicated interpretive trail. The park sits at the base of Pico Peak and offers camping, picnicking, and fishing alongside hiking routes that include a stretch of the Appalachian Trail. A section of the grounds is also listed on the National Register of Historic Places for structures built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.
