About Frontenac State Park

A 430-foot limestone bluff overlooking Lake Pepin, a wide natural stretch of the Mississippi River, forms the core of this park's landscape, running roughly three miles along the water. Riverboat captains once called it Point No-Point for the way it seemed to jut into the river, and the blufftop holds a natural limestone arch known as In-Yan-Teopa. Park land wraps entirely around the town of Frontenac, once a fashionable resort in the late 1800s, and the area is noted for birdwatching.
