About Delta Heritage Trail State Park

Built on an abandoned Union Pacific rail corridor, this park converts a former freight line into a multi-county trail system spanning 960 acres across Arkansas, Desha, and Phillips counties. The full route is planned to cover 84.46 miles, with a completed northern stretch of 40 miles running from Lexa to Snow Lake and a separate 28-mile section linking Arkansas City to the White River at Yancopin. A middle segment of 36.4 miles, funded by a 2021 RAISE grant, is set for completion by 2025.
