About Ed Z'berg Sugar Pine Point State Park
Nearly two miles of Lake Tahoe's western shoreline run through this park, backed by roughly 1,000 hectares of forested mountain terrain. Part of that forest is old-growth and has been recognized by the Old-Growth Forest Network. The park was originally named Sugar Pine Point State Park before being renamed in 2003 in honor of Edwin L. Z'berg, a state assemblyman known for his environmental legislation work.
