About Los Encinos State Historic Park

A natural spring and pond sit at the center of this 4.7-acre rancho property, alongside buildings once part of Rancho Los Encinos. The nine-room de la Ossa Adobe and the two-story limestone Garnier building still stand, along with a blacksmith shop from the working ranch era. The site became a California state park in 1949, preserving these structures near the corner of Balboa and Ventura Boulevards.
