About Torrey Pines State Beach

Sandstone cliffs shaped by ongoing coastal erosion from the adjoining Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve rise above the shoreline here, giving the beach its cliffside setting. The stretch of sand sits along San Diego's coast in the Torrey Pines community, framed between La Jolla to the south and Del Mar to the north. The eroding bluffs remain part of what visitors see when walking the beach.
