About Elkhead State Park
A 900 surface acre reservoir fills most of the park, giving boaters and anglers open water to use in northwest Colorado. The reservoir straddles Moffat and Routt counties, with the park built around and including its shoreline. Management runs out of the Yampa River State Park office, grouping this park within that larger complex rather than operating on its own.
