About Trinidad Lake State Park

A dammed reservoir, Trinidad Lake, forms the water at the middle of this park, with hiking trails, camping and boating access built around its shoreline. Coal mining ruins at nearby Cokedale mark the area's industrial past, and the southern part of the park exposes a visible boundary layer between the Cretaceous and Paleogene geologic periods.
