About Hillsborough River State Park

Rapids on the Hillsborough River run through the park, a feature uncommon in Florida's mostly flat terrain. The site draws visitors from nearby Tampa given its short distance from the city. It closed in October 2024 after Hurricane Milton caused damage, then reopened on February 24, 2025.
