About Colt Creek State Park

5,067 acres of pine flatwoods, cypress domes and open pasture make up this property, part of the Green Swamp Wilderness Area and named for a creek running through it. Gates opened to visitors on January 20, 2007. The mix of woods and pasture provides habitat for species such as bald eagles, gopher tortoises, bobcats and wild turkey.
