About Ichetucknee Springs State Park
The Ichetucknee River runs six miles through the park, fed by natural springs that push up from the aquifer before the water joins the Santa Fe River. The land covers 2,241 acres of hardwood hammock and limestone outcrops shaded above the flowing water, and its ecological features earned it recognition as a National Natural Landmark. Florida bought the property from the Loncala Phosphate Corporation for $1,850,000.
