About River Rise Preserve State Park

The Santa Fe River reemerges here after flowing underground beneath neighboring O'Leno State Park, giving the preserve its name. The land was acquired by the state in 1974, when about 1,800 hectares were set aside to protect the river's resurgence and the surrounding terrain. The park sits off U.S. Route 441, north of High Springs.
