About Lake Griffin State Park
One of Florida's largest live oak trees stands within its boundaries, a natural feature the park was set up to protect. The land covers 577.63 acres of swampland and hardwood upland, and connects to Lake Griffin and the Ocklawaha River, which links onward into the Harris Chain of Lakes. This mix of wetland and upland habitat sits along U.S. Highway 441 between Leesburg and Ocala.
