About Little Ocmulgee State Park
A 256-acre lake formed by a natural diversion of the Little Ocmulgee River anchors the grounds, with a beach made of the fine white sand typical of the riverbank soil. Civilian Conservation Corps crews built part of the park around this lake during the Great Depression, and the property now covers 1,360 acres and includes a 60-room lodge and the Wallace Adams Memorial Golf Course, an 18-hole championship course with a pro shop. The 2.6-mile Oak Ridge Trail runs through the park as well, giving visitors a route past native plants and wildlife.
