About Pine Lake State Park
Two lakes make up the core of this park: the 50-acre Lower Pine Lake and the 69-acre Upper Pine Lake. It holds the distinction of being the first state park established in Iowa, and it will mark its 100th anniversary in 2026. The white pines growing in the area arrived long ago in glacial drift carried from Wisconsin.
