About Calvert Cliffs State Park

Twenty-four miles of cliffs run along the Calvert Peninsula's Chesapeake Bay side, and this park protects a stretch of that exposed shoreline. The bluffs are known for Middle Miocene fossils that turn up along the beach below them, remnants of the sub-epoch that shaped this part of the bay. The cliffs stretch from Chesapeake Beach south to Drum Point, with this protected section sitting near Lusby.
