About Mount Washington State Park
A 60.3-acre parcel occupies the summit of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the northeastern United States. The historic Tip Top House stands next to the summit building, open to visitors from early May to early October, and the Mount Washington Observatory runs a museum there alongside a cafeteria and gift shops in the warmer months. Access is by the Mount Washington Auto Road, the Cog Railway, the Appalachian Trail, or hiking routes from Pinkham Notch, Crawford Notch, and the Cog Railway base station.
