About Allaire State Park

The Howell Works ironworks, restored as Allaire Village, sits at the center of the park's grounds and gives the site its historical identity. The park spans Howell and Wall Township and is named for James P. Allaire, who founded the ironworks there. It also forms part of the New Jersey Coastal Heritage Trail Route and hosts the Pine Creek Railroad, a tourist railroad operating on the property.
