About Liberty State Park

The land sits on Upper New York Bay directly across from Liberty Island and Ellis Island, spanning 1,212 acres. It opened to mark the national bicentennial and remains under the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry. From the Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal within the park, ferry service departs for both islands, putting the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island within direct reach of visitors.
