About Bayswater Point State Park

Seventeen acres reach out along Jamaica Bay at the western end of Mott Avenue in Bayswater. The grounds once formed the mansion and estate of banker Louis A. Heinsheimer, later becoming public land protected as a state park. The bay frontage remains the main feature of the property, occupying a modest footprint compared to the estate that preceded it.
