About Bear Mountain State Park

The Hudson River forms the eastern edge of this 5,205-acre tract spanning Rockland and Orange counties. Land within its boundaries holds the Perkins Memorial Tower, a trailside museum and zoo, the Bear Mountain Inn, a carousel, a pool and a skating rink, along with the junction where the Palisades Interstate Parkway meets the Bear Mountain Bridge. Visitors can bike, hike, boat, picnic, swim, cross-country ski, run, sled and ice skate on the grounds. The Palisades Interstate Park Commission, under New York State oversight, manages the property.
