West Hempstead is home to the largest freshwater lake in the entire county, contained within this park's boundaries. The property spans 737 acres, making it one of three state parks located within the Town of Hempstead. Drivers can reach it directly through a dedicated entrance at exit 18 off the Southern State Parkway.
