About Sojourner Truth State Park
Honoring Sojourner Truth, who was born nearby in Esopus, this 508-acre park along the Hudson River was dedicated by Governor Kathy Hochul during Black History Month on February 28, 2022, and opened that April 23 to align with Earth Day. The land stretches between the river to the east and New York State Route 32 to the west. It remains under construction, so its facilities are still taking shape.
