About Cliffs of the Neuse State Park
Layers of sand, clay, seashells, shale and gravel stack into a multicolored rock face along the Neuse River, rising 90 feet above the water and stretching 600 yards. The 1,097-acre park includes a museum with exhibits on the geology and natural history behind the cliffs, along with a swimming area, hiking trails, fishing areas, picnic spots, and camp sites.
