About Hammocks Beach State Park
1,611 acres make up this coastal park, most of it Bear Island, reachable across the water along North Carolina's Southern Outer Banks. Three smaller islands, Dudley, Huggins and Jones, sit at the mouth of the White Oak River and belong to the park as well, accessible only by paddling in by kayak or canoe.
