About Pilot Mountain State Park

A 2,241 foot peak rises above the surrounding land, its bare rock knob visible for miles. The park spans 3,872 acres across Surry and Yadkin Counties, protecting the mountain and the ground around it. The land was set aside in 1968, and the pinnacle itself gives the park its distinctive shape on the landscape.
