About Findley State Park

Judge Guy B. Findley donated the land around 1936, and it was first managed as a state forest before becoming a state park in 1950 at 838 acres. A dam completed in 1956 created the lake now within its boundaries. Findley went on to lead the Ohio Forestry Association and served as vice president of the American Forestry Association.
