About Columbia Hills Historical State Park
Horsethief Lake, formed by a Columbia River impoundment, anchors this 3,338-acre property, created in 2003 when Horsethief Lake State Park and Dalles Mountain Ranch were combined into one park. The grounds sit east of Dallesport along SR 14, reflecting the ranchland and shoreline history of both former properties. Visitors get a stretch of land shaped by the river's damming as well as the ranch's past.
