About Memaloose State Park
A view across the Columbia River takes in Memaloose Island, visible from the park grounds. The island holds the grave of Victor Trevitt, an Oregon Legislative Assembly member buried there after he died in 1883, and his marker can still be seen on the island's south shore. Reaching the park means driving Interstate 84, about 11 miles from The Dalles.
