About Hug Point State Recreation Site

5 miles of coastline separates the beach here from Cannon Beach, though the road once told a different story: the site takes its name from a stretch of coastal cliff that early travelers had to round at low tide, hugging the rock to get around it. Today the park sits along a Pacific Ocean beach and is administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. Visitors can picnic and fish, and there is no fee to enter.
