About Big Ridge State Park

A 45-acre sub-impoundment called Big Ridge Lake sits near the center of this 3,687-acre park, forming the hub of most on-site recreation. The larger property stretches along the southern shore of Norris Reservoir, the body of water backed up by the Clinch River after Norris Dam was completed in 1936. Together the lake and reservoir shoreline give the park two connected but distinct waterfronts to explore.
