About Acton State Historic Site
1913 marks the year Texas placed a monument over Elizabeth Crockett's grave in Acton Cemetery, funded by a legislative appropriation passed two years earlier. She was the widow of Davy Crockett, who died at the Alamo in 1836, having married him in Tennessee in 1815. The cemetery also holds the graves of her son Robert and his wife Matilda.
