About Penrose Point State Park
Mayo Cove and Carr Inlet form the shoreline of this 165-acre park at the southern end of Puget Sound, with more than 2 miles of saltwater beach to explore. Trails cover 2.5 miles for hiking and biking, plus a separate interpretive nature trail. Visitors can dig for clams, go crabbing, scuba dive, waterski, or fish along the water, and the grounds are named for Stephen Penrose, who led Whitman College from 1884 to 1934.
