About Spencer Spit State Park
A sand spit encloses a salt-chuck lagoon on the eastern shore of Lopez Island, forming the shoreline feature the park was set aside to protect. Covering 138 acres with 7,840 feet of shoreline, the park looks out over Lopez Sound. The spit and lagoon give visitors a stretch of shoreline to walk and a sheltered pocket of water separate from the open sound.
