About Cathedral State Park

Hemlocks and other trees rise up to 90 feet tall with trunks measuring as much as 16 feet around, standing in the largest tract of virgin timber left in West Virginia. The 132-acre mixed forest is dominated by eastern hemlock and has never been logged. Rhine Creek runs through the grounds, cutting through the old growth.
