About Pikes Peak State Park

Established in 1935, the park was set aside to protect a 500-foot bluff rising above the Upper Mississippi River, directly across from where the Wisconsin River joins it. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources manages the land, which spans nearly a thousand acres. Iowa Highway 76 runs along its northern edge.
