About Florence Marina State Park
Native American history and prehistoric artifacts anchor the Kirbo Interpretive Center, which also displays snakes, turtles and fish alongside its exhibits on the region's past. The 173-acre park sits on the eastern shore of Walter F. George Lake and centers on a deep-water marina, drawing anglers and waterskiers to the reservoir. Herons, egrets and occasionally bald eagles can be spotted along the shoreline.
