About Historic Blakeley State Park
A once-thriving river settlement occupied this land before it became the ground where Confederate troops made their stand in the last major battle of the Civil War. The park preserves the former town site of Blakeley along the Tensaw River delta, covering the ground where that settlement and its later military encampment stood. Visitors get access to the delta terrain itself, layered with the remains of both a community and a battlefield.
