About Jenkins' Ferry Battleground State Park
A stretch of ground along the Saline River marks where Union and Confederate forces clashed on April 30, 1864, during the Red River campaign. The site preserves the location of the Battle of Jenkins' Ferry, one of the campaign's engagements fought during the American Civil War. Visitors come to the grounds specifically to see where this battle took place, rather than for other recreational features.
