About DeGray Lake Resort State Park

The Army Corps of Engineers dammed the Caddo River in 1963, and the reservoir that formed became DeGray Lake, spanning 13,800 acres within the Ouachita Mountains. Public interest in a state park grew after construction began, leading to the park's creation in 1974 on 984 acres, with a resort and an 18-hole championship golf course added the following year. It remains Arkansas's only state park with a resort.
