About Mount Magazine State Park
Mossback Ridge holds the peak of Mount Magazine, the highest point in the state, along with a lodge, cabins, trails, and a hang gliding area. The land spans 2,234 acres and has been inhabited since the 1850s, later passing through the Ouachita and Ozark National Forests before a 22-year transfer process moved it into state park status. That history places the highest terrain in Arkansas under a single park designation.
