About Heavener Runestone State Park
A 12-foot sandstone slab carved with runic characters sits at the center of this 55-acre park, which was once state-run before management passed to the City of Heavener in 2011. The site is now maintained by the nonprofit Friends of Heavener Runestone, which holds a yearly festival there to raise funds for the park's upkeep.
